Juan Pablo Lobos

Juan Pablo Lobos

Born in Chile and moving to Venezuela at the age of two, Juan Pablos Lobos began his musical career in 1992, inspired by international artists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Blues Saraceno, Edward Van Halen, Nuno Betancourt, Vito Bratta and Brian May.

He began formal study of music at the José Luis Paz music conservatory of the Ministry of Culture in the state of Zulia, starting on acoustic guitar and gradually moving over to electric.

He ventured into songwriting with his first group, Paradigma, creating more than 20 songs characterized by harmonies and solos of the time. The first rehearsals were held in a location called the "Warehouses of the University of Zulia". Lobos received strong public feedback since the practices were held in front of a casual audience of around 100 people. Lobos began performing live between 1993 and 1994 appearing on radio programs and in night clubs. In his last year at the conservatory, he starred in a short film from Zulia called “Vivo”. This gave him the opportunity to showcase his group in the thousand seat auditorium of Casa D Italia Maracaibo, where the film debuted.

Since graduating he has recorded with several bands, performed in front of thousands at a time, including one show at the UCV University Stadium in Caracas for a crowd of 40,000, toured internationally, recorded jingles for various advertising campaigns, and even became the first endorsed Ibanez artist in Venezuela.

Lobos since has moved back to his home country of Chile. He now spends his time recording and performing his original compositions live and on social media, teaching, and showcasing gear at guitar clinics and online.
