I started doing session work fairly quickly after I moved to town, and also started touring with various artists. From 2004 to 2020, I toured and recorded with Rascal Flatts, and it was an amazing “home base” for me. Between musical collaborations via the Flatts gig, and various other live and studio situations I have found myself in, I have been blessed to make music with a lot of amazing people and quite a few of my heroes. You can now catch me on tour with country music artist Luke Bryan.

Kai Kurosawa picked up the electric bass at the age of fifteen. Today his primary axe is Kūbo (aka the Aircraft Carrier); a custom 15-string instrument which he co-developed with renowned luthiers Michael & Daniel Tobias (MTD). Kai self-taught and self-created fresh new cutting edge musical techniques for this unique instrument. Widely considered as truly one of a kind player, he is frequently invited to teach seminars and clinics in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
