Expanse Pedal Known Issues
We have found a few issues with the Expanse Pedals, which are listed below with their workarounds.
Issue 1: No effect after quick power supply change
Description
After quickly changing power supplies or isolated ports on a power supply, some pedals may have no effect present. This issue does not affect all pedals and does not apply when simply removing/reapplying power from the same power supply/port.
Solution
Remove power. Wait 10 seconds, then reapply power.
Workaround
When changing power supplies or power supply ports, make sure power is removed for at least 10 seconds before power is reapplied.
Issue 2: Errant behavior with tap tempo
Description
This issue is rare and appears to be caused by an erroneous tap tempo value being read from stored memory. The symptoms are the effect disappearing and LED behaving abnormally.
Workaround
- Hold down the footswitch for 1 second and release.
- Turn the knobs to reset the current preset if necessary.
Issue 3: Loss of effect when connecting/disconnecting ExP or Expression Inputs
Description
After connecting/disconnecting an ExP or the ExP Expression Inputs, no effect is present or knob settings have changed.
Solution
Remove power, wait 10 seconds, then reapply power. Readjust the knobs for any affected presets.
Workaround
Only disconnect/connect an ExP or Expression Inputs when power is disconnected from the pedal.
Issue 4: Unexpected preset change
Description
A preset (knob settings only) changes to something other than the previously stored values.
Workaround
This issue appears to be caused by electrical noise or interference, particularly from power supplies. Relocate Expanse, increasing the distance between it and the power supply.
